Letter from Marian Anderson to George Arthur, Aug. 7, 1930

In this handwritten letter to George Arthur, Marian Anderson describes her travel by boat from New York to Berlin and states that she has found long-term lodging and started music lessons. Anderson writes, "The outlook seems bright and new friends predict success when the debut is made. I am hopeful." Based on her performance, she announces promising opportunities in Czechoslovakia, Norway, and Sweden.
